Phalanx is a nutrition and training app for iOS, built and supported by one person. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, email us directly — every message is read and answered by the developer.
To help us resolve things on the first reply, please include:
We aim to reply to every email within 2 business days. Phalanx is operated by a solo developer, so responses may take longer over weekends and holidays. If you have not heard back after a week, please send a follow-up — it is far more likely that the message was lost than ignored.
We can help with:
We cannot provide medical, dietary, or professional health advice. All nutrition and fitness calculations in the App — including BMI, BMR, TDEE, and macro targets — are for informational purposes only. Phalanx is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Please consult a qualified physician or dietitian before making health, dietary, or medical decisions.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by Phalanx. You can cancel at any time from your device's App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), or from the in-app subscription management screen. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period.
All payments are processed by Apple. We do not independently process refunds, and we cannot issue one on your behalf. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple's refund policies.
In the App, go to Profile → Account → Delete Account. The flow asks you to confirm twice. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your profile, every diary entry, your saved foods, and your food photos are erased, and there is no grace period and no recovery. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail of what is removed.
Important: deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel the subscription separately in your Apple ID settings, or you may continue to be charged.
This is by design. Food diary entries are automatically and permanently deleted on a rolling basis, generally within about five weeks of being created, and food photos are deleted along with the entries they belong to. Saved foods are not affected — they stay on your list until you remove them or delete your account.
We do not yet offer an automated export inside the App. Email us at the address above and we will put together a copy of your personal information and respond within a reasonable time.
Only to read your step count, so your activity shows up alongside your nutrition data. Access is read-only — the App is configured so it cannot write anything back to Apple Health. Health access is optional, and you can revoke it at any time in your device's Health app settings.
Both features require a signed-in account, and both are rate limited to prevent abuse. If you have been scanning or searching rapidly, wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem continues, check that you are still signed in and that you have a working connection, then email us with the approximate time it happened.
Under Profile → Nutrition → Health Conditions you can optionally indicate a diabetic or kidney condition. These answers are optional, are never asked for during onboarding, and are used only to adjust your macronutrient split. They are treated as sensitive health information — see the Privacy Policy.
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, and an internet connection for food search, barcode lookup, and AI photo analysis.
Email us. Bug reports with your full name and a description of what you were doing are the fastest to fix, and feature requests genuinely shape what gets built next.
